in the stillness of the quiet morning
nothing quite yet awake
even the sun has not said hello to the day
the stillness can be eery
if you are uncomfortable
with its quiet
drink up the emptiness as if it has everything to offer
and let it all go in the very next breathe
non-attachment is the gift for the sage
not wanting
not grasping
not holding on
only sitting and seeing and breathing and feeling, for the moment
and the next
and the next
sounds surface
and the morning activity begins
emptiness is the only thing we never have to hold on to
